Undergraduate Admissions department obtains a precedence relationship that
specifies one activity cannot start until a preceding activity has been
completed. There are many critical steps involved in recruiting and accepting a
student to Kean University and it is imperative to the university that it is
done efficiently.
Undergraduate Admissions Critical Operations Flow Chart:
- Recruitment.
- Provide requirements.
- Applications received and reviewed.

The objective
of the Undergraduate Admissions department is to recruit students who can succeed
at Kean University. This department organizes workshops and informational events
about Kean University on and off campus, as well as hosts Open Houses for
parents and prospective students. This is the first step, recruiting potential
students. In order to accomplish these events, it is important to have an ample
amount of inventory including:
- Blue Cards: A 3 to 5 inch card that allows interested students to fill out information about themselves and their possible interest in Kean University.
- View Book: A small book of images highlighting Kean University and what it has to offer to its students.
- Fact Sheet: One-page informational sheet about the Kean University, giving a general overview about the school; briefing on topics such as campus life and activities, financing your education, visiting the campus, and enrollment.
These inventories are used to promote Kean University to prospective students. The pamphlets, flyers, blue cards, view book and fact sheets are essential to have on hand because they are what provide prospects with all the information they need to know. Kean University
Undergraduate Admissions’ inventory is manual. They use a system similar to the
Q system where you check the inventory every day until the inventory position
is less than or greater to the reorder point.

within the office of Undergraduate admission are equipped with iPads and find
them convenient on college tours because of the multiple functionality they
have at a portable weight. The iPad is a line of tablet computers designed,
developed and marketed by Apple Inc.,
primarily as a platform for audio-visual media including books, periodicals,
movies, music, games, apps and web content. Its size and weight fall between
those of contemporary smart phones and
laptop computers.

requirements set by Undergraduate Admissions and Kean University that must be met
before an applicant’s document can be processed. The requirements
are as followed:

Applications
are accepted and reviewed by counselors once all documents are received. Data, such as prospective Student’s address, previous
institute of study, transcript, application payment, essay requirement, ACT or
SAT test scores, are gathered and entered into Datatel.
Datatel programming is the software used in the office of
Undergraduate Admissions. It is used to input prospective student information
required for the application review process in order to be accepted as a
student into Kean University. Kean University Undergraduate Admissions evaluates grades
as close to a 3.0 and a combined SAT score of 1,000 in Math and English to
provide an immediate decision of acceptance or denial. Then the final
step for the Undergraduate Admissions department is to send the prospective
student a letter of acceptance or denial. After this final step is done, their job is completed.
